Dr. Ghang Lee is Assistant Professor at Department of Architectural Engineering of Yonsei Unverisity in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Lee received his Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004. For the last several years, he's been working on BIM-related research projects including a project to develop an advanced 3D parametric CAD system for the North American precast concrete industry and a project develop an IFC translator for structural data exchange. He's also teaching project scheduling, building cost estimation, building information modeling (BIM), parametric modeling. Before he began his Ph.D. study at Georgia Tech, he worked in the industry as a researcher, architectural designer, and software developer. In 1996, he and his team received the Medal of Merit from the President of Korea for excellence in design and construction quality management. Dr. Lee is also a developer of several registered software applications including the GTPPM - a new process and product modeling method and tool - and several project information management systems (PIMS). He is also a founder of a dot-com company and developer of many interactive websites. His teaching and research interests include panelization of complex building surface; Building Information Modeling(BIM); parametric and constraint-based modeling; process management & optimization; knowledge-based systems; integrated systems and interoperability; and prefabricated architecture He has over thirty publications in these areas. Currently he's directing the Building Informatics Group at Yonsei. |
